The Importance of Entertainment: Theaters, Movie Theaters, Concerts and More...

"Why do I see so many spirits at movie theaters?"

This has always been an interest of mine - a question I've asked since I was young.
The answer is simply that the dead too love entertainment. This article is all about that particular question and answer.

I recall several movies I went to as a child being filled with people floating above the seats - people with missing parts, people made out of clouds or fog. They'd hover about four feet above the seats in perfect alignment to the center of the screen. Rapt with some films, disgusted by others, they would often share with one another their thoughts. Some didn't seem to see other spirits - or perhaps they just ignored each other. I was amused that no one else seemed to pay them much attention - just once in a while shuddering or scratching where the spirits touched as they moved.
Once I asked a friend if she saw those spirits, and she was so disturbed - but I got a fair bit of excitement from that. I always used to be excited by peoples' anxiety or amazement about what I saw and felt as though I was a peeping tom of spirits! Kindergarten to grade 2 I always loved to share these kinds of things till peoples' attitudes started shifting. That's another article.

Spirits don't have TV guides or Blockbuster Video Cards, or CD players at their disposal. Although they can be entertained by other spirits in marvellous arts - sometimes the entertainment of the living is appealing. Like how some people like to watch black and white movies or watch the latest blockbuster to talk with others about current living affairs. They talk amongst themselves in groups or pairs and discuss the state of living affairs - the state and course of art and entertainment.. etc. It's a big thing. You'll probably do it when you die too!

So what's the allure of movie theaters and concerts? The schedules are out there for all to see, if you know where to look. You don't need to have guides or newspapers to be open on the right page. You just need to stand in front of the signs that show who's playing what - and you have yourself a "Date night" ;)

What's the big deal? Why is this important? Well most spirits are cool - you know, they don't cause trouble, they can actually be helpful. Most good spirits are guardians and help to guard family members (even very distant descendants) - or guard people they just enjoy or pity - or guard animals or plants.. there's no limit to what some spirits will protect. Sometimes they keep a history of the thing they protect - thus passing it on to future spirits for posterity. Again, another article.
Some spirits, however, are either mischief makers or worse - what I think should be called Criminal Spirits. Yes, they exist. (The last six months of my life were plagued by a bunch of those due to a reading for a person with a very important destiny - I am working on an article about that as well.) Entertainment for mischief makers and criminal spirits helps to distract them, to keep them busy, and to inspire some of them to turn away from their cruel ways. Of course, just as the living are prone to be inspired to begin or continue or worsen their cruel ways - as are spirits. However usually the distraction is enough to keep them from annoying or tormenting the living (or the dead) for a while.
There is some depression in spirits as well - however very rare - that is helped by taking part in these entertainments. It makes them feel human again, especially for those who are sad about being dead - for those who can't let go of the flesh.

Spirits melt into the form of entertainment - be it a beloved team's baseball game, watching Avatar in 3D (through the eyes of the viewer.. better if they are psychic in some moderate way), taking in the exhilarated energy of a crowd at a Sarah Brightman Opera, gazing at Swan Lake with love, or catching a rare MC Escher exhibit at a museum. So many of our creations and performances enrich the afterlife - it's important to continue to give our best to our honored ancestors. Many cultures have known this for quite some time - and create dances, sacred rituals, arts, honored feasts, and much more. We'll be dead some day, all of us, and we'll want our living to help lighten whatever load we have to bear in the afterlife.

- Although, as a post script, most spirits don't really have a load/burden.. but they sure do like to be entertained!
